Cette enveloppe de type FDC n’est pas envoyée comme tel. Les deux timbres, de la série commémorative « Conscription nationale », ont été émis le 15 mai et nous sommes le 25. Nous sommes également, à un mois de l’invasion de l’URSS par les troupes allemandes et du changement de route (via Istanbul) pour l’acheminement du courrier.
L’adresse du destinataire est « Boîte postale 472 Milan ». Ce qui doit correspondre à un collaborateur de la « Banca d’Italia » (banque d’Italie) comme semble l’indiquer le cachet violet. Ce dernier est complété de la date d’arrivée « 16gui, 1941, Anna XIX » dans le service courrier de ladite banque. Mais avant cela, la lettre est passée à Bologne le 12 juin, puis elle arrive à Milan. Elle est ouverte par la censure et refermée par une bande idoine « …to per censura MI » et un cachet « verificato per censura 102 » est apposé sur le recto de l’enveloppe. Le 14 juin (premier timbre à date) la lettre est mise en distribution. Nous sommes un samedi, destinataire absent ? Possible donc retour au bureau de poste. Le lundi 16 juin (second timbre à date), elle est remise en distribution et, cette fois ci, délivrée au destinataire.
This cover type FDC is not sent as such. The two stamps in the commemorative "National Conscription" series were issued on 15 May and today is the 25th. We are also a month away from the invasion of the USSR by German troops and the change of route (via Istanbul) for mail delivery.
The addressee's address is "P.O. Box 472 Milan". This must correspond to an employee of the "Banca d’Italia" (Bank of Italy), as the purple stamp seems to indicate. This is completed with the date of arrival "16gui, 1941, Anna XIX" in the bank's mail service. But before that, the letter had passed through Bologna on June 12th, before arriving in Milan. It was opened by the censors and sealed with a suitable strip "…to per censura MI" and a stamp "verificato per censura 102" was affixed to the front of the envelope. The letter was delivered on June 14th (the first date stamp). It was a Saturday, and the addressee was absent. Possibly, so back to the post office. On Monday June 16th (second date stamp), it was put back into distribution and, this time, delivered to the addressee.
